Today, October 18, 2011, at 16h., We are pleased to announce the opening of bahiaCanaria.com.
= Path =
The idea about bahiaCanaria was born because of the impossibility and difficulty of purchasing on the Internet outside the Islands.
Problems such as shipping, customs, taxes, etc., made submissions to the canaries really hard, or their costs were too high.
So, 5 years ago, the idea comes coupled with the need of the canary market itself. During this time we have developed services, software, design, .., and it has been tried and tested over and over again to be absolutely sure the system works perfectly, and now has finally opened its doors to the public canary.
= One actually easier =
The Canary Islands are described by the European Union as an outermost region, which means that we live from some distance from the continent. Canary has its own fiscal and tax system, its own customs, its own administrative procedures, as well as chambers of commerce advise that we must face the double insularity and cost overruns, territorial fragmentation, the small size of our market and economic fabric is made up mainly of micro enterprises.
A number of difficulties which have now changed dramatically.
bahiaCanaria is the drastic change in all the above difficulties, better seen one by one.
- we accept it, and we realize how lucky we are to live where we live.
- customs and costs, etc, nothing will appear in the canarian regional market.
- shipping costs between islands are less than the costs between mainland and islands.
- territorial fragmentation does not exist on the Internet, at least as far as we know.
- the small size of the market disappears when one is aware that the Internet is worldwide, and replaced by a large market size (the whole world), and,
- if the micro enterprises fabric are one of our more productive, we believe it should be strengthened.
= Changing perspective =
The change of perspective is needed to understand the possibilities of bahiaCanaria.We have gone from having almost nothing, to have almost everything.
The view we had was the one of being mere buyers and to which we must address is that of buyers and sellers and not only between islands (regionally), but international buyers and sellers, because Internet is a gateway to global trade, and that door in the Canary Islands is bahiaCanaria.
If Internet is dispersed in bahiaCanaria everything is linked, at least the most important things, it is not necessary to change the platform or user account to access, participate, edit, publish, .., services have been carefully chosen to meet the needs of each sector.
